Why does my 12 mp camera take better photos than this 14 mp bridge camera (I have photos inside)?

Megapixels really only have an effect on the quality of larger prints. The more megapixels, the larger the print can go without losing significant quality. Lens quality has a lot to do with the quality of the shot. I'm not sure who makes the lenses on either of these cameras nor if one or the other is gl versus plastic. There may also be issues of the jpeg compression algorithms being different. Finally there are all the other issues in what makes one photo better than another with the same camera: composition, lighting, etc.
