Elton Brand and Baron Davis?

Hello. I keep reading comments about how it's "bad" that Elton Brand and Baron Davis might have colluded or conspire to play with each other for less money. I don't get it. The people kept saying that hopefully the NBA investigates if Elton Brand stays with the Clippers, even though the Warriors offered him $20 million more. I just don't understand why this is bad at all. It would be like Kobe and Jordan agreeing to play each other to win a championship and I just think that would be very awesome opposed to thoughts of conspiracy or foul play. Just because they want to win a championship for less money, why is this bad? Isn't this what the Lakers did when Karl Malone and Payton played for way less money?
